Will the Carlega work in my car?
It works in any car with a cigarette lighter socket, from 1995 to today, whatever the make, the model, or whether it has a stereo with a screen. The Carlega X and the Carlega PRO are standalone screens: they do not replace your head unit, they sit on the dashboard or the windscreen.
The Pen and the Pen PRO are different: those need a car that already has wired CarPlay or Android Auto, and make it wireless.
Do I need it installed, or a garage visit?
No. Mount the bracket, plug the cable into the cigarette lighter and pair your phone over Bluetooth. It takes about 10 seconds and nothing is cut or taken apart in your car. After that it connects on its own every time you start.
Does it work with iPhone and Android?
With both. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto run on the same screen, wirelessly, and the screen recognises which of the two is connecting.
How does the sound reach the car speakers?
Three ways, and you pick whichever works best in your car: the FM transmitter (tune the radio to the frequency the screen shows), a 3.5 mm auxiliary cable if your car has an AUX socket, or the screen's own built-in speakers.
Can I watch Netflix, YouTube or series?
Yes. The screen mirrors your phone, so it plays whatever is on it. The Smart Box goes further: it runs full Android with the Google Play Store, so you install Netflix, YouTube, Disney+, Prime Video or Sport TV directly. By law, video should only play while the car is stopped.
What is the difference between the Carlega X and the Carlega PRO?
Screen size, and what fits on it. The Carlega X is 7.1 inches and the more discreet of the two. The Carlega PRO is 10.3 inches, panoramic, and lets you see the map and your music at the same time in split screen. The features are the same: wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, FM, AUX and a reversing-camera input.
What if I ride a motorcycle?
The Carlega BikePlay Pro is the handlebar version: a 5-inch IP67 waterproof screen, audio straight to your helmet intercom, works with gloves on, and clicks off the bracket when you park.
How long does delivery take, and what does it cost?
Shipping is free across Portugal with CTT Express, delivered in 3 to 5 working days. You get the tracking number by email as soon as the parcel leaves the warehouse.
What if I don't like it?
You have 30 days to send it back for a full refund, no reason required. Write to support@carlega.com and we handle the rest.
What is the warranty?
Every Carlega device carries a 3-year warranty. There is also an optional lifetime warranty you can add to the order, which protects the device for as long as you own it.
